Iqra University Introduction:

The synthesis of teaching and research is fundamental to Iqra National University (INU).  It’s our constant endeavor to produce, not only excellent engineers and business leaders but also well balanced human beings with strong sense of values. Therefore INU always focuses at imparting high quality education not only at undergraduate and postgraduate levels but also at its MS/PhD programs of International level offered in disciplines of Management Sciences, Computer Sciences, Engineering and Art & Design. Moreover, the expansion of facilities at INU, not only helps to ensure conducive environment to cater for the educational needs of a large number of talented students but it also provide opportunities to the students to get benefit from modern age technology and make themselves competent enough to face this challenging era. INU has established its unique position due to the impressive vision of an enlightened management and tireless efforts of a highly qualified faculty. The University, for its repute, faculty and unique academic curriculums attracts a large number of students every year although it offers admission to a measured number of students from all regions of the country.

The Iqra National University is having its spacious campus at Phase-II, Hayatabad Peshawar. The University started its independent academic setup under the provisional charter granted by Ordinance “Iqra National University Ordinance 2010” vide “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ordinance No. VII of 2010” on November 25, 2010 that is published in the Government Gazette as an “Act of the Provincial Legislature of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” on April 23, 2011. Mentioning about INU’s history, although, it is newly chartered University but the name “Iqra” is not new for education as well as job sector since the management, the faculty and the infrastructure is serving the nation at Peshawar for the last one decade, when it emerged as a campus of Iqra University Karachi chartered by the Government of Sind in year 2000 at University Town in a rented premises.

The INU-Research & Development Cell forms a vital part in academic improvement of the University. It plays the lead role in promoting and facilitating research activities. The Cell encourages and facilitates INU faculty as well as students, to participate in and present their research findings at various national and international conferences, seminars and workshops. They are also encouraged to make their research known by publishing the same in journals of repute. The Research Cell has been instrumental in facilitating to undertake multiple projects for capacity building and applied research funded through different agencies, including the Higher Education Commission (HEC), National ICT (R&D) Fund etc.

University strives to create an academic friendly environment with lots of high standard services like well-equipped classrooms, advanced computer laboratories with 24 hour internet facilities and rich Information Resource Centre. Special services, such as, sports fields, placement, cafeteria, photocopying & binding, transport and hostel etc. are also provided to the students. The academic performance of the University is continuously monitored by different regulatory authorities like HEC, HERA and PEC and the efforts of the management are always recognized and highly appreciated by the high-level inspecting teams.

INU is making achievements not only in academics but also achieving socially as well as morally by participating in different plantation projects to make this city green and pollution free, establishing beautiful chowks and opening doors of opportunities of highly expensive education to the needy and talented students by offering them fee discounts and scholarships.
