NUST IMPROVES
GLOBAL RANKING IN TWO DISCIPLINES
National University
of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has risen to even greater prominence as per
the latest subject-wise rankings (2016) by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), UK.
According to the details, NUST now stands 215th (the previous position being
271) in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and 272nd (from
last year 338) in the discipline of Computer Science and Information Systems.
It is worth
mentioning here that thousands of universities from all over the world are
considered for evaluation. However, only 894 universities made it to the
final ranking list. Over a hundred million citations / attributions were
analyzed for around 14,000 programs. The methodology for evaluation combines
analysis from QS Global Employer and Academic Surveys with bibliometric data
from Elsevier’s Scopus database (www.iu.qs.com). This singular achievement is
a result of stringent quality assurance regime of the University.

UNIVERSITY RANKINGS: TOP 50 UNDER 50- 2015/16
M/S Quacquarelli
Symonds (QS) of UK, the most prestigious ranking agency of the world has
announced its latest edition of QS top 50 under 50, an annual ranking of top
50 universities from the QS World University Rankings that have been
established in the last 50 years. This category is designed to highlight the
performance of universities whose performances in teaching and research are
increasingly impressive considering their age and
resources. This year, QS has also published the QS Next 50 under 50 rankings
of next 50 universities (from 51 to 100) under 50 years old. National
University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Islamabad has made its debut in
QS Next 50 under 50 list of 2015-16 from the QS World University Rankings and
has been ranked # 85. NUST is the only Pakistani university which is included
in this ranking list. This achievement speaks volumes of the hard work put in
by the NUST management and faculty in terms of developing the University for
competing internationally for the criteria used for ranking. While NUST
management and faculty praise Allah, the Almighty, for bestowing this unique
honour, the nation can take pride in its own university, the NUST.

NUST RANKED
AMONG TOP 350 WORLD UNIVERSITIES OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY
National University
of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Islamabad has improved its world ranking in
the field of Engineering & Technology by 58 positions from 398th to
340th, while retaining its premier position in the 2015 ranking announced on
15 September, 2015 by M/S Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) of UK, the most
prestigious ranking agency of the world. NUST has also been included in Top 120
Asian Universities. In subject-wise rankings QS ranked NUST Programs of
Electrical & Electronic Engineering at 271 and Computer Sciences &
Information System at 338 positions in the world. It is worth mentioning that
another ranking agency of repute M/S Times Higher Education, UK has also
ranked NUST amongst Top 100 universities (at # 95) from BRICS and other
Emerging Economies of the world in its 2015 ranking. Moreover, Higher
Education Commission of Pakistan has ranked NUST as No 1 University of Pakistan
in its latest ranking announced in May 2015. Moreover, the NUST’s
Research Profile has been gauged more than double and 1.5 times the global
percentage in the fields of Engineering & Technology and Natural
Sciences, respectively. These achievements are based on the resolute hard
work of NUST management and faculty for providing quality education,
establishing international linkages, engaging in collaborative and innovative
research with leading international universities / organizations,
internationalization and producing graduates who are readily accepted by

SUBJECT-WISE WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKINGS - 2015
NUST now
features amongst the world’s elite institutions in 2 of the 36 subjects in
this year’s QS World University Rankings by subject, announced on April 29,
2015. NUST is nowranked at 271 in the field of Electrical & Electronic
Engineering, and 338 in the field of Computer Science & Information
Systems.
Out of the 3,551
universities considered for evaluation 894 made it to the final rankings
list. Over a 100 million citations attributions were analyzed for over 14,000
programs, to obtain the results. The methodology combines analysis from QS
Global Employer and Academic Surveys with bibliometric data from Elsevier’s
Scopus database (www.iu.qs.com).
It is pertinent to
mention that NUST has consistently maintained its position among the top 500
world universities for the last 8 years. It is also ranked among the top 130
Asian Universities. Recently, NUST was included among the top 100
universities of BRICS (including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South
Africa) and 17 emerging economies of the world. It has been made possible
through stringent quality assurance regime at NUST, as seen by its Internal
Quality Assurance Award by Asia Pacific Quality Network, and very recent
Academic Integrity Award given by the prestigious Turnitin Corporation, USA.
These awards and
distinctions are not only a matter of pride for the nation, but also reflect
the progress being made by Pakistan in the field of higher education, for
which the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan is working tirelessly. The

National University

position in the list of Top 500 world universities in the 2014-15 ranking
announced on 16 September, 2014 by M/S Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) of UK, the
most prestigious ranking agency of the world. NUST is the only Pakistani
university which is consistently included in this ranking list since 2007.
Moreover, in the field of Engineering and technology, NUST has been ranked
398th in the world. This is the result of concerted effort put in by the NUST
management and faculty for providing quality education, conducting innovative
research, establishing international linkages, engaging in collaborative
